Academica top 10 – Sign up to receive the daily top 10 stories in post-secondary education. Much content is Canadian.
Academic Advising: A Comprehensive Handbook. This 544 page second edition from 2008 touches on legal issues on advising, group advising, the incoming student, and more. Editors are Gordon, Habley, Grites and Associates.
NACADA – For a $65 membership fee you receive semi-annual advising journals and membership on listserves of different topics ranging from regional listserves to small college listserves to training and development, LGBTQA and more. Check out NACADA’s clearinghouse for many advising resources (some are free).
There are many professional organizations that offer support and professional development opportunities to advising professionals.
One of the most active groups is NACADA; an advising association centred in the U.S. and OAAP is an allied member of this association and individuals can join for a fee.
